London (Report by Shiraz Khan) Prominent Kashmiri leader and lawyer Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo is contesting the upcoming general elections as an independent candidate from London Feltham on July 4. Barrister Majeed Tramboo has received extensive support from the local community in Feltham and Heston. He has begun his campaign and meetings with various communities in the constituency.
It is worth noting that both major parties, the Tories and Labour, have strong reservations about the Palestine-Israel conflict. Neither party called for a ceasefire with Israel despite the mass killing of thousands of Palestinians by Israel; instead, they supported the bombing of Gaza’s Muslims by calling it self-defense, leading to widespread anger and resentment among not just Muslims but all communities. Consequently, numerous candidates from George Galloway’s Workers Party and other parties are running, along with a significant number of independent candidates. Like Majeed Tramboo, former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is also contesting as an independent candidate.
Barrister Majeed Tramboo runs a law firm in Hounslow and has been actively involved in political, social, and religious activities both locally and nationally. He stated that members of parliament are not raising the issues of Kashmir and Palestine.
Similarly, the health department is in dire condition, immigration policies need reform, racial discrimination and Islamophobia-related crimes are occurring frequently, and poverty, inflation, and interest rates are rising. Due to the proximity of Heathrow Airport to his constituency, there is a need to work hard to reduce environmental pollution.
