The Strength of Pakistan Conference held in Luton Town Hall

Hasan Ali Zaigham, the active high commissioner for Pakistan in London termed the success and strength of Pakistan can not be achieved without unity within our ranks, not only in Pakistan but also overseas.

The Pakistan nation should follow the guiding principles of Pakistan’s nationhood. Upon the independence of Pakistan, Faith, Unity and Discipline was introduced and adopted as the national motto by the country’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He reiterated the message of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif that overseas Pakistanis are our strategic asset. Their love for Pakistan is unconditional. Whatever they say and whatever they do, we believe that it is coming from their heart. He also conveyed the message of the high commissioner that we as a nation should stop thinking in terms of ethnicity, sectarianism and political affiliation. Whenever we reach the other communities our only introduction should be Pakistani. He was speaking as Chief Guest at the strength of Pakistan Conference held at the Luton town hall on 24th June 2022.

The event was organized by General Secretary of Ahl-e-Sunnat UK & Overseas Trust, Allama Qazi Abdul Aziz Chishti in collaboration with Jamia Islamia Ghousia Trust and Luton borough Council town Hall. Qazi Abdul Aziz said in his presidential address that the aim of this gathering is to build partnership with the overseas community for unity and development of Pakistan and support our institutions particularly the armed forces, which are a symbol of courage and bravery.

On this occasion, the labour member House of commons from bedford Raja Muhammad Yasin said the democracy in Pakistan is very young, it has to grow. However, for the empowerment of Pakistan’s democracy every institution has to work within their limits. Speaking on the Kashmir issue, he said that whenever we raised the issue of Kashmir with the UK government they replied that it is a bilateral dispute between India and Pakistan. We need to work hard to change the stance of the government.

Member House of Lords, Lord Quban Hussain expressed Pakistan’s great achievements and said that despite many challenges, Pakistan has made fast progress in many fields. Pakistan army and intelligence is the best in the world the way they have saved the country from terrorism is remarkable. He also added that don’t bring Pakistan’s politics into London streets because it damages the soft and positive Image of Pakistan.

The deputy leader of Luton borough Council Raja Aslam Khan has said in a welcome speech that the main purpose of this event is the safety, security and stability of Pakistan. We as overseas are very passionate to look Pakistan forward in every field. In this regard, I would like to say to the political leadership and the government to fully focus on economic development of Pakistan and empowerment of the people at the grassroots level.

Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Welfare Council Naeem Abbasi Naqshbandi said that love for Pakistan is in our blood, and the green crescent flag is paramount for us. He paid tribute to the efforts of the High Commission of Pakistan London to solve community issues priority basis. Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mr. Festus gave a beautiful message not to forget your roots and your culture. In this context, what the Pakistani community is doing is worthwhile.

Other speakers including Raja Zafar Khan, head of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front’s diplomatic department and retired academic professor in the UK, said Pakistan was an important country in the region. However the real strength of Pakistan lies in education. Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Awan, a prominent leader of Madina Masjid Oak Road Luton and UK Islamic Mission UK, said that international conspiracies against Pakistan can only be countered by solidarity and strengthening of Pakistan. Professor Masood Akhtar Hazarawi, Director of Al-Hira Educational and Cultural Center said that unfortunately we could not provide a one system of education to the nation. Gary Forrest praised Luton’s Pakistani community role and the support for the police.

Cllr Waheed Akbar, cllr khatija malik,  cllr Tahir Mehmood, cllr Sameera khurshid, cllr Javaria, Former cllr Riaz Butt, Shabir malik, Mumtaz Butt, Mushtaq Khan, Rafiq Malik, Chaudhry Sharif, Chaudhry Qurban have also expressed their love and support for the strength of Pakistan.

More than hundreds attended the event including the former Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Kayani,  Chief Engineer of Azad Kashmir Mushtaq Awan, Secretary Community Welfare Faisal Mahmood from Pakistan High Commission London, Coordination Consul Muhammad Asad Rashid, Police Officer Farooq Aziz and many others.

In the last, the event was concluded as a rejuvenation to Pakistan’s safety, security and stability as well as to keep continuing support for Pakistan’s economic take-off and development from overseas.
