Virgin Atlantic has been forced to cancel a number of flights and push them back to late August.
The transatlantic flights have been axed this month from popular airports including Heathrow and Manchester Airport.
Virgin Atlantic has said that the flights are currently “under review” and anyone affected by the cancellations will be contacted.
However, angry Brits on social media have shared information from Virgin Atlantic representatives saying the flights have been cancelled until August 22.
Most of the flights affected by the review include destinations to America including Las Vegas and Orlando.
The flights affected include:
London Heathrow
- Las Vegas
- Orlando
- San Francisco
- Seattle
Manchester
- Atlanta
- Los Angeles
- New York JFK
- Orlando
Affected passengers are entitled to a full cash refund, or can insist on being rebooked on alternative airlines to reach their destination.
A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: “We’re continually reviewing our flying programme and holiday schedules in response to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 restrictions.
“World-leading vaccination programmes in both the UK and US have created the opportunity to safely open up travel between these two low-risk countries whilst protecting public health and we urge the UK government to move the US to the UK’s ‘green list’ and for the Biden administration to repeal the 212F proclamation [banning British arrivals] for UK travellers.
It comes as TUI has been forced to cancel some of its flights and holidays.
It comes shortly after Brits were allowed to visit countries on the amber list if they had two jabs of vaccine doses.
However, TUI has said that it is “continually reviewing” its holiday programme and cancellations in line with guidance.
The airline and holiday organiser has cancelled flights and holidays to Cyprus, Jamaica, Skiathos, Fuerteventura, Crete (Chania) and La Palma up until various dates later this month.
