Help Luton schools: be a governor

People looking for a voluntary role need look no further than becoming a governor to support our schools.

Luton Governor Services want over 18s who have a passion for improving educational standards for pupils across Luton, to apply to become part of a friendly and supportive team of governors.

New recruits will be fully trained and supported throughout; meetings are generally held in the evenings and are a mixture of face to face and online.

Dheeraj Chibber, Corporate Director for Children, Families and Education, said: “The volunteers do not need to be parents, but they do need to be dedicated to improving our schools and we welcome any additional skills either in work or family life.”

Luton Governor, Aash Khadia, said:

“I am deeply invested in the educational journey of children in Luton, my role as governor allows me to serve the community and contribute to the school’s success.

“I have been able to contribute and provide valuable insights and expertise to the governing body.

“By actively participating as a governor, there is an opportunity not only to contribute to the positive development of the school but also to collaborate with fellow stakeholders in shaping, nurturing and enriching an environment where every child in Luton can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.”
