The High Commissioner recognised the role of Luton residents
Luton: High Commissioner Moazzam Khan has told a delegation of community figures from Luton, Milton Keynes and Chesham that he would utilise any accessible resources to support the community and his focus is young people of Pakistani origin in UK.
The meeting was held at Pakistani High Commission London on Wednesday. The discussions centred on building stronger links with the High Commission to address community issues and the need to restart community surgeries across the UK.
The High Commissioner recognised the role of Luton residents in supporting the embassy and expressed his ambition to work with them to on the skills and education of young people like providing access to resources, cultural exchange, promoting tourism initiatives and internships.
He appreciated the input of Luton Council Deputy Leader Raja Aslam Khan, who is the portfolio holder for skills and education and Luton Mayor Mahmood Hussain.
Allama Abdul Aziz Chishti of Luton, Raja Shakeel Haider from Milton Keynes and some other also discussed some important matters with the High Commissioner. All the members of the group welcomed him to the UK and appreciated the work of the High Commission during the pandemic.
Rising Pakistani mixed martial arts star Faisal Malik was also lauded by the High Commissioner for his efforts in the field of sport and representing Pakistan.
In addition, an award of appreciation was presented by Moazzam to Chishti for the outstanding work during the pandemic and throughout his years in the UK.
