L&D NHS Staff was awarded by Mayor of Luton Cllr Mahmood Hussain.

Mayor of Luton Cllr Mahmood Hussain has arranged an event in Luton Council Town hall in recognition of the services provided by NHS doctors, Nurses, Physios and other allied healthcare professionals and presented appreciation certificates to them. Mayor gave them a very warm welcome and took them to show different sections of the town hall. Later on while addressing to NHS heroes in the Chamber, The Mayor of Luton applauded the medical staff who worked tirelessly putting their own lives at risk and served their patients at a time when people were scared to even shake hands with each other. There were so ally deaths across the country and it was an atmosphere of fear across the globe. He said these are the real heroes who were fighting against a deadly disease and unknown enemy.
He presented appreciation certificates to Dr Peter Albert, Dr Sandhya Seneviratne, Dr Thayaparan, Dr Rizwan Butt, Dr Adan Ali, Dr Ronald Carey, Dr Ramabhadran Balaji, Dr Nicholas Heredoutou, Physio Louis. He also presented certificates to Barrister Zafar Iqbal, Renowned businessman Mujahid Hussain and famous Journalist from Mirpur Azad Kashmir Mr Khalid Anjum.
In the end doctors thanked the Mayor for organising this memorable event for them and stressed on importance of taking Covid vaccine as it’s the only reliable weapon in the fight against Covid infection. They offered their help to arrange different seminars for community to help with the uptake of vaccine and address any myths about vaccination.
Mr Khalid Anjum also thanked Mayor of Luton for organising this event and receiving a certificate in a town where majority of the population belongs to Kashmir.
In the end Mayor Mahmood Hussain appreciated the positive role of media during the pandemic in creating awareness about the disease and vaccine ans especially thanked Mr Sheraz Khan for his selfless services for the community.
